These savoury rollups are a classic party appetiser, featuring deli ham spread with a creamy filling of softened cream cheese and finely chopped green onions. The rolls are sliced into bite-sized pieces, making them ideal for sharing. They are quick to assemble, requiring only 60 minutes from start to finish, and yield a generous 40 servings for your gathering.

Ham and Cream Cheese Rollups

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb square shaped deli ham (I use the smoked flavored or honey flavored)
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened (to make it faster I use the already softened cream cheese that comes in small tubs)
  • 3 green onions, chopped very fine

Method

  1. Combine the softened cream cheese with the finely chopped green onions.
  2. Take a slice of ham and evenly spread the cream cheese mixture over it.
  3. Carefully roll the ham slice tightly from one end to the other, like a jelly roll.
  4. Secure the long roll by inserting toothpicks at intervals of 1 inch along its length.
  5. Using a sharp knife, cut the roll into slices at each toothpick, making pieces every 1 inch.
  6. Place the individual rollups on a circular serving dish, arranging them in concentric rings from the outer edge to the centre.
