Spicy Cajun Shrimp
Prepare these vibrant Cajun shrimp skewers for a fast and tasty grilled dish. The recipe involves creating a rich, spiced butter sauce to coat the kebabs. Ingredients
- 1 lb fresh raw shrimp, cleaned,shelled,deviened (20-25)
- 8 green onions, cleaned and cut into 3 pieces
- 2 lemons, cut in 6 slices then in half
- 12 wooden skewers, soaked in water (6 inch)
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 teaspoon thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 2 teaspoons ketchup
- 1/2 teaspoon fresh garlic
Method
- Mix all the sauce ingredients together in a pan and cook them for 4 to 5 minutes.
- To assemble the kebabs, thread one shrimp, a piece of onion, and a half slice of lemon onto each skewer, repeating the pattern.
- Coat the assembled skewers with the prepared sauce and place them on the grill.
- Continue to brush the kebabs with sauce and turn them regularly until the shrimp turn pink, which should take 6 to 10 minutes.
