Ingredients
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup all-purpose flour, sifted
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1 1/2 cups apples, peeled and diced

Method
- Heat your oven to 375°F.
- Beat the shortening and sugar together until pale and creamy, then mix in the beaten eggs.
