Oatmeal Raisin Chocolate Chip Bars

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 3/4 cup butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 3/4 cups old fashioned oats
- 1 cup raisins
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Method
- Combine the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, salt, nutmeg, and ground cloves in a small bowl, then set this mixture aside.
- Using a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and packed brown sugar.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and beat until incorporated.
- With the mixer on a low speed, gradually incorporate the reserved flour mixture and the old fashioned oats, adding them alternately.
- Gently fold in the raisins and semi-sweet chocolate chips by hand until evenly distributed.
- Transfer the batter to a greased 13x9-inch baking pan and spread it out evenly.
