Lemon Pepper Tilapia With a Lemon-Wine Sauce

Ingredients

  • 6 pieces tilapia fillets
  • 1 tablespoon lemon pepper seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine
  • 1 shallot, diced
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill
  • 1 teaspoon chicken bouillon
  • 1/2 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 lemon, juice of
  • 1 lemon, zest of

Method

  1. Coat the tilapia fillets with olive oil and season them with the lemon pepper.
  2. Place the fish in the oven and bake at 350 for 30 minutes.
  3. As the fish cooks, melt the butter in a saucepan. Cook the diced shallot and lemon zest until softened.
  4. Pour in the white wine, lemon juice, dill and chicken bouillon. Let this mixture simmer for about fifteen minutes.
  5. Combine the cornstarch with the water, then whisk this slurry into the simmering sauce.
  6. Continue to cook and stir the sauce for about five minutes until it thickens slightly.
  7. Spoon the finished sauce over the baked fish just before serving.
