Edible Kool-Aid Play Dough
This scented, colourful dough is perfect for creative play with children. As a former preschool teacher and parent, I have made this recipe many times. You can select the Kool-Aid flavour to change the colour and scent, creating purple grape dough or festive red and green versions. Adding extracts and glitter can make it seasonal. It requires basic ingredients and is ready in about 15 minutes for imaginative fun with cookie cutters and rollers.
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1/2 cup salt
- 2 (1/4 ounce) packages Kool-Aid (you decide the flavour!)
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 2 cups boiling water
- 3 tablespoons oil
Method
- Combine all the dry ingredients together, then pour in the wet ingredients.
- Knead the mixture until it becomes smooth. Be careful as it is hot. it might take a minute or two before you can stop using a spoon and use your hands. You could add more flour if you want a different consistency.
- Now you can take your cookie cutters, rolling pins, and other play dough tools to enjoy.
