It is brightened with rice vinegar, lime juice and a touch of heat from hot sauce. The simple method involves blending everything together until smooth, resulting in a rich sauce ideal for dressings, dipping or drizzling over dishes. It yields approximately 2 cups and comes together in just 10 minutes.

Spicy Thai Peanut Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 cup smooth peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce or 1/4 cup tamari
  • 1/4 cup oriental sesame oil
  • 3 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons ginger, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons garlic, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 3/4 cup water

Method

  1. Place all of the listed ingredients into the bowl of a food processor.
  2. Process the mixture until it becomes completely smooth and well combined.
  3. Pause the processor occasionally to scrape down the sides with a spatula to ensure everything is incorporated.
