Grandma Terri's Play Dough
This is a cherished family recipe for homemade play dough, known for its wonderfully smooth texture and delightful scent from added extracts. Ingredients
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 cup salt
- 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
- 1 cup water
- 2 tablespoons cooking oil (vegetable, safflower, etc.)
- food coloring (optional)
- extract (Vanilla, Orange, Lemon, and Mint extract all make the play dough smell lovely. DO NOT USE CINNAMON, ) (optional)
Method
- Combine every ingredient in a saucepan.
- Heat the mixture, stirring CONSTANTLY, until it forms a cohesive ball and loses its stickiness.
- Place the finished dough into an airtight container to keep it ready for creative use.
