4 Foil Wrapped Dinners
This collection presents four different foil packet dinners, each featuring a unique sausage and vegetable combination inspired by personalities from The Chew. The method involves assembling ingredients onto foil, drizzling with olive oil, and sealing before grilling. Each packet cooks for 20 to 30 minutes until the sausages and vegetables are tender. They are designed to be served on hoagie rolls with a choice of mustard for a simple, flavourful meal.
Ingredients
- 1 kielbasa
- 1 tablespoon caraway seed
- 1 onion (sliced)
- 1/2 bunch parsley
- 1/2 cup sauerkraut
- 1/4 cup beer
- sausage
- carla's favorite grilled sausage
- 1 andouille sausage
- 1/4 lb new potato
- 1 ear of corn
- 1/4 cup chicken stock
- grilled sausage (Clinton's Favorite)
- 1 hot and sweet Italian sausage
- 1 red bell pepper (cored and then seeded and sliced)
- 1 onion (sliced)
- 1/2 bunch basil
- 1/4 cup white wine
- grilled sausage (Daphne's Favorite)
- 1/4 lb oyster mushroom
- 2 zucchini (sliced)
- 1 onion (sliced)
- salt & freshly ground black pepper
- 1 dash white wine
- 2 sprigs thyme
- bun (Hoagies)
- spicy mustard
- whole grain mustard
- stadium mustard
- extra virgin olive oil
Method
- Heat your grill to high heat.
- For Michael's favourite, place the kielbasa, caraway seeds, sliced onion, parsley, sauerkraut and beer in a foil packet. Add a drizzle of olive oil, seal the packet and grill for about 30 minutes until the onions are tender.
- For Carla's favourite, assemble the andouille sausage, new potatoes, corn and chicken stock in a foil packet. Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil, seal it and grill for 20 to 30 minutes until the potatoes are fork tender.
- For Clinton's favourite, arrange the hot and sweet Italian sausage with the sliced red bell pepper, onion, basil and white wine in a foil packet. Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil, seal and grill for 20 to 30 minutes until the sausage is cooked and peppers have softened.
- For Daphne's favourite, nestle the oyster mushrooms, sliced zucchini, onion, salt, pepper, white wine and thyme in a foil packet with a drizzle of olive oil. Grill until the vegetables become tender.
- To serve, present each sausage variety on a hoagie bun and garnish with your preferred mustard, such as spicy, whole grain or stadium mustard.
