Easy Sausage & Provolone Balls
These savoury appetiser balls combine Italian sausage with shredded provolone cheese and a hint of basil, all bound with a pancake mix. They are shaped and baked until cooked through, resulting in a deliciously cheesy and meaty bite. Ingredients
- 1 lb bulk Italian sausage
- 1 cup hungry jack buttermilk complete pancake & waffle mix
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil leaves
- 8 ounces shredded provolone cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped green onion
Method
- Preheat your oven to 375F.
- Take a 15x10x1 inch baking pan and line it with foil.
- Lightly coat the foil with nonstick cooking spray.
- Place the sausage, pancake mix, and basil into a food processor fitted with a metal blade.
- Process the mixture until it just comes together.
- Add the shredded provolone cheese and chopped green onions to the processor.
- Use brief on and off pulses to incorporate the cheese and onions.
- Form the mixture into balls roughly 1 inch in size.
- Arrange the shaped balls on the prepared foil-lined pan.
- Bake the balls at 375 F for 10 to 15 minutes.
- They are ready when the meat is no longer pink in the centre.
- Serve the balls warm, optionally with cocktail toothpicks.
