3 Ingredient Scone
These incredibly simple scones require only three core ingredients: self raising flour, sour cream and fizzy lemonade. The lemonade provides the lift, creating a light and fluffy texture with minimal effort. Ready in about 20 minutes, they are perfect for a speedy afternoon tea treat. Just mix, cut, brush with milk and bake until beautifully golden.
Ingredients
- 3 cups self raising flour
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup fizzy lemonade (regular)
- milk (for brushing)
Method
- Sift the self raising flour into a mixing bowl.
- Stir the sour cream into the flour gently until combined.
- Pour in the fizzy lemonade gradually, mixing just until a soft dough forms. You might not require the entire cup.
- Turn the dough out onto a surface that has been lightly dusted with flour.
- Pat the dough out and use a fluted cutter to stamp out individual scones.
- Transfer the cut scones onto a baking tray that has been greased or floured.
- Lightly brush the top of each scone with a little milk.
- Bake in an oven preheated to 200 degrees celcius for 10 - 12 minutes, or until they turn a golden brown colour.
- Serve warm and enjoy.
