2 Ingredient Pizza Crust
This straightforward recipe uses only two components to create a versatile pizza base. Greek yogurt and self-rising flour are combined to form a workable dough, which is then kneaded, rolled, and baked. The method includes guidance for mixing by hand and a substitute if you lack self-rising flour. You can have two medium pizzas ready to top and bake in roughly half an hour.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Greek yogurt
- 1 1/2 cups self-rising flour
Method
- Place the yogurt and 1 cup of the flour into the bowl of a stand mixer. Mix them together, ensuring to scrape the bowl sides, until fully incorporated. Knead the mixture for 5 minutes using a medium high speed. A note for hand mixing is provided.
- Introduce the remaining flour gradually to help the dough form a cohesive ball. The thickness of your yogurt may require the full extra 1/2 cup of flour, totalling 1 1/2 cups.
- Sprinkle a clean work surface with flour and turn the dough out. Knead it briefly by hand until it feels tacky without being sticky. it should not cling to your fingers.
- Roll the prepared dough out to your preferred size and add your chosen toppings. Transfer it to a preheated oven set to 450 degrees and bake for 10-12 minutes, making adjustments if necessary.
- Cook's Note: For hand mixing, combine the ingredients in a bowl using a spoon. Then transfer the mixture to a generously floured counter and knead by hand for 5-8 minutes.
- If self-rising flour is unavailable, use this alternative: mix together 1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour with 1 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder and 3/4 teaspoon of salt. Proceed with the recipe as directed.
