Tuna Kabobs
These tuna kabobs feature chunks of fresh tuna steak marinated in a punchy blend of soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil and wasabi. After a brief 10-minute marinade, the tuna is threaded onto skewers and grilled for 5 to 10 minutes until beautifully browned. The result is a quick, protein-rich dish with a delightful Asian-inspired flavour profile, ideal for a speedy weeknight dinner or casual outdoor cooking.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon wasabi powder, mixed with
- 1 teaspoon water
- 1 1/4 lbs tuna steaks, 1 1/2 inches thick,cut into 1 1/2 inch chunks
- 4 bamboo skewers, soaked in water for 10 minutes (10 or 12 inch)
Method
- Set your grill to preheat to medium high.
- Mix the soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil and prepared wasabi paste together in a resealable plastic bag.
- Place the tuna chunks into the bag with the marinade and let them sit at room temperature for 10 minutes.
- Skewer the marinated tuna pieces and cook them on a lightly oiled grill for 5-10 minutes, until the exterior is browned and the interior reaches your preferred level of doneness.
