Spicy Cabbage Relish

Ingredients

  • 4 teaspoons butter or 4 teaspoons margarine
  • 2 cups finely shredded cabbage
  • 1 medium green pepper, chopped
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 medium tomatoes, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons wine vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons prepared mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon hot sauce
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper

Method

  1. Put the butter or margarine into a 2 quart glass casserole dish. Microwave it on high until melted, which should take about 45 seconds.
  2. Mix all the other ingredients into the melted butter until well combined. Cover the dish and microwave on high for 7 to 9 minutes, remembering to stir the mixture after 4 minutes. Serve it hot over veggie dogs. Any leftovers should be refrigerated and can be used either hot or cold.
