Spicy Broccoli Bruschetta Spread

Ingredients
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 1/3 cup chopped onion
- 1 garlic clove (chopped)
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese (grated)
Method
- Boil the broccoli florets in salted water for approximately 12 minutes, or until they become tender, then drain them thoroughly.
- Heat the olive oil in a small skillet and cook the chopped onion, garlic and crushed red pepper flakes for 10 minutes, until the onion is soft.
- Place the cooked broccoli, the onion mixture from the skillet and the grated Parmesan cheese into a food processor.
- Process the combined ingredients in the food processor until a smooth texture is achieved.
- Taste the spread and add salt according to your preference.
- Allow the spread to reach room temperature before serving.
- Spread the mixture onto toasted rounds of Italian bread to serve.
