Spiced Walnuts

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 cup walnuts (whole or coarsely chopped depending on planed use)
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon boiled cider or 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper (optional)

  4. Scatter the sugar over the walnuts and mix. Pour in the boiled cider or maple syrup and stir once more to ensure the nuts are covered.
  5. Season with the salt and the optional pinch of cayenne pepper.
  6. Once the nuts are fully coated, take the skillet off the heat and transfer the contents onto a baking sheet or parchment paper to cool completely.
