Smokey Steak Rub
This is a fantastic all-purpose seasoning blend suitable for enhancing steaks, chicken, shrimp, or fish. It creates roughly 3/4 cup of rub, which you can keep in a sealed container for convenient use. The mixture is crafted from spices you likely already own in your kitchen cupboard.
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons oregano
- 1 tablespoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne or 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder (or to taste)
- 1 tablespoon cracked black pepper
- 1 tablespoon white pepper
- 1 tablespoon kosher salt
Method
- Combine all the spices, salt, and peppers together.
- Apply the rub generously onto your choice of steak, chicken, or fish.
- Any leftover spice blend can be kept in a jar with an airtight lid.
