Gluten Free Taco Seasoning Mix
This homemade gluten free taco seasoning mix is an excellent alternative to shop-bought versions. It combines common spices like chilli powder, paprika, and cumin for authentic flavour. You can prepare a large batch and keep it in a jar, ready to season browned ground beef with water for a quick and tasty filling. The recipe yields one package of seasoning.
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon potato starch
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 teaspoon onion powder (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
Method
- Combine all the listed spices in a bowl.
- Brown one pound of ground beef in a pan.
- Stir in one portion of the seasoning mix with 3/4 cup of water and let it cook gently for 10 to 15 minutes.
