Seasoned Beansprouts
This simple Korean side dish features blanched beansprouts tossed with aromatic spring onion, grated garlic, and toasted sesame seeds in a fragrant sesame oil dressing. It's a crisp, flavourful accompaniment that comes together in minutes, making it an ideal partner for a variety of Korean main courses. Ingredients
- 225g beansprouts (labelled ‘ready to eat)
- 1/2 spring onion green part only, thinly sliced on the diagonal
- 1 garlic clove grated
- 1 tsp toasted sesame seeds
- 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
Method
- Boil water in a pan, then add the beansprouts and cook them for 10-15 secs. Drain them, rinse under cold water until cool, and drain once more. Gently press out any remaining water.
- Combine the sliced spring onion, grated garlic, toasted sesame seeds, and sesame oil in a medium bowl. Add the prepared beansprouts, season with salt, and toss gently to combine.
