Ingredients
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 2 (14 ounce) cans stewed tomatoes
- 1 (15 ounce) can black beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 cup chopped red onion
- 1/2 cup coarsely chopped roasted red pepper
- 1 small jalapeno, minced
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
- salt and pepper
Method
- Brown the ground turkey in a skillet with a light coating of oil, breaking it apart with a fork as it cooks.
- Transfer the cooked turkey to a slow cooker and add all the other ingredients, omitting the salt and pepper for now.
- Put the lid on the slow cooker and leave it to cook for 6 to 8 hours.
- Once cooked, taste the chilli and add salt and black pepper as needed.
