Fried Chicken Livers

Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken liver
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup self rising flour
  • vegetable oil

Method

  1. Soak the chicken livers in the buttermilk for 10 minutes.
  2. Transfer the livers to a colander to drain off the buttermilk.
  3. Coat each liver thoroughly in the self rising flour.
  4. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer until it reaches 350 degrees.
  5. Cook the livers in the hot oil for 3 to 4 minutes until they turn brown.
  6. Place the fried livers on a paper towel to drain any excess oil.
