5-Minute Chocolate Fudge
This recipe delivers a rich and creamy chocolate fudge studded with pecans. It comes together incredibly quickly using a microwave, making it an ideal choice for preparing a large batch of sweets. The fudge is chilled until firm, then sliced into neat squares for serving. It yields 36 individual pieces, perfect for gatherings or as a homemade gift.
Ingredients
- 2 cups dark chocolate chips
- 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped pecans, plus about 2 tablespoons for topping
Method
- Place the dark chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk and butter into a medium glass bowl. Microwave the mixture for 90 seconds.
- Stir everything together. If needed, return the bowl to the microwave for a further 15 seconds.
- Pour in the vanilla extract and mix until the fudge base is completely smooth.
- Fold one cup of the chopped pecans into the chocolate mixture.
- Transfer the fudge to a loaf pan that has been lined with parchment paper.
- Use a spatula to spread the mixture evenly to a thickness of about 1 inch.
- Sprinkle the remaining two tablespoons of chopped pecans over the top of the fudge.
- Place the pan in the refrigerator to chill until the fudge is set and ready for serving.
- Once firm, cut the slab into 1-inch squares.
- Keep the fudge squares in an airtight container stored in the refrigerator for up to one week.
- For a stovetop method, melt the chocolate, condensed milk and butter together using a double boiler.
