This straightforward spaghetti dish requires only five main components. It combines Barilla spaghetti with a vibrant sauce made from fresh lemon juice, olive oil, and grated Parmesan cheese, finished with chopped basil. Ingredients
- one box barilla spaghetti
- 2 fresh lemons
- 2/3 cup olive oil
- 2/3 cup parmesan cheese, grated
- 1/2 cup fresh basil, chopped
- 1 pinch salt and pepper
Method
- First, grate the peel from the lemons until you have 1 tablespoon of zest. Then, juice the lemons to obtain 1/2 cup of juice. In a large bowl, whisk the olive oil, Parmesan cheese, lemon juice, salt, and pepper together.
- While preparing the sauce, cook the pasta following the directions on its package. Once cooked, drain the spaghetti, making sure to save 1 cup of the water it was cooked in.
