Pear, Kiwi, Berry and Flax Seed Smoothie
This thick and creamy smoothie combines yoghurt, kiwi, pear, frozen berries, flax seeds and optional bee pollen for a nutritious drink. It is rich in fibre and omega-3 fatty acids. If using a standard blender, the flax seeds and bee pollen should be ground first in a coffee grinder. The final texture is so substantial you can enjoy it with a spoon. Preparation takes just 5 minutes for one serving.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup yogurt
- 1 kiwi, skin removed
- 2 teaspoons flax seeds
- 1 teaspoon bee pollen (optional)
- 1/2 cup of frozen berries, of your choice
- 1 pear, skin and all quartered
Method
- Add the ingredients to your Vita-Mix or blender, beginning with the yoghurt and finishing with the quartered pear. Blend until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy.
- For a regular blender, you must first grind the flax seeds and optional bee pollen using a coffee grinder.
