Mildly Lemony Tilapia
This tilapia dish is a speedy and healthy option, ready in only 15 minutes. It features a gentle lemon flavour and is seasoned with garlic powder, basil, salt and pepper. The fish is cooked in a pan with lemon juice and water, resulting in a light, low-fat meal that is perfect for a simple dinner. It can also be made with catfish fillets if preferred.
Ingredients
- 4 (4 ounce) tilapia fillets (or catfish)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- butter-flavored cooking spray
- 1/8 cup lemon juice
- 1/4 cup water
Method
- Sprinkle one side of the tilapia fillets with the garlic powder, dried basil, salt and black pepper.
- Coat a pan with the butter-flavoured cooking spray and place it over medium high heat.
- Allow the fish to brown for about thirty seconds, then pour in the lemon juice and water.
- Continue cooking the fillets for 4-5 minutes on each side before taking the pan off the heat.
- Plate the fish and serve it straight away.
