Cajun-Styled Grilled Catfish

⏱ 15 mins 🍽 4 serving(s) 🏷 Catfish

This recipe delivers a quick and flavourful grilled catfish dish with a bold Cajun-inspired seasoning blend. A simple rub of lemon pepper, white pepper, Creole seasoning, and blackened fish seasoning is applied to the fillets before they are grilled. A sprinkle of lemon juice adds brightness before cooking. The fish is grilled until it flakes easily, resulting in a smoky, spicy main course that is ready in about 15 minutes. Garnish with fresh lemon wedges to serve.

Cajun-Styled Grilled Catfish

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon lemon pepper seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 teaspoon creole seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon blackened fish seasoning (I like Prudhomme's blackened redfish seasoning)
  • 4 catfish fillets, 1 1/2 to 2 pounds
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • lemon wedge (to garnish)

Method

  1. Mix the first four ingredients together to create a seasoning rub and coat the catfish fillets with it.
  2. Drizzle lemon juice over both sides of the seasoned fish.
  3. Place the fish on a grill preheated to 350-400°F, cover with the lid, and cook for 5 minutes.
  4. Turn the fillets over and grill for another 5 minutes, covered, until the fish flakes easily when tested with a fork.
  5. Serve the grilled catfish garnished with lemon wedges if you like.
