Honey-Garlic Pork Ribs
These pork ribs are coated in a sweet and savoury glaze made from honey, soy sauce, garlic and brown sugar. The addition of baking soda creates a foaming marinade that clings to the meat. After being arranged on a foil-lined tray, the ribs bake until sticky and caramelised, requiring only a few turns during cooking. Perfect for a straightforward weeknight meal, this dish serves four to six people.
Ingredients
- 4 lbs pork spareribs
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup distilled white vinegar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
Method
- Set your oven to heat to 375 degrees. Cut the spareribs into separate pieces. Place the honey, soy sauce, white vinegar, minced garlic and brown sugar into a large bowl and mix thoroughly until the honey and sugar have fully dissolved. Mix in the baking soda.
- The combined sauce will start to foam up.
- Put the rib pieces into the bowl and turn them to cover all sides in the sauce. Line a cookie sheet with foil. Place the ribs on the sheet with the meat side facing upwards. Drizzle any remaining sauce over the top and finish by sprinkling with the garlic salt.
- Cook in the oven for 1 hour, remembering to turn the ribs every 20 minutes.
