Easy Pleasing Meatloaf
This reliable meatloaf recipe has been a favourite for years. It combines lean ground beef with a savoury stuffing mix and onion, bound with eggs and water. The mixture is formed into a loaf, topped with ketchup, and baked until cooked through. You can try using BBQ sauce instead of ketchup or add finely diced green peppers for extra flavour. It serves 6 to 8 people.
Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 2 lbs lean ground beef
- 1/2 cup onion, finely diced
- 1 (6 1/4 ounce) package Stove Top stuffing mix
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup ketchup, divided
Method
- Combine all of the listed ingredients, but set aside 1/4 cup of the ketchup.
- Form the combined meat mixture into an oval-shaped loaf.
- Transfer the shaped loaf into a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Spread the reserved 1/4 cup of ketchup over the top of the loaf.
- Bake the meatloaf at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 1 hour.
