Chicken and Mixed Vegetable Purée
This purée is designed for babies progressing in their weaning journey. It combines chicken breast with sweet potato, courgette and broccoli for a nutrient-rich meal. The ingredients are simmered together until tender, then blended with yogurt to a smooth consistency. It yields approximately 500g, perfect for serving immediately and freezing portions for later. Preparation and cooking takes about 15 minutes in total.
Ingredients
- 1 small sweet potato (about 150g), peeled and cut into chunks
- 1 chicken breast cut into chunks
- 1 small courgette (about 150g), cut into chunks
- 4 broccoli florets
- 2 tbsp plain yogurt
- baby's milk
Method
- Place the sweet potato chunks into a medium saucepan and cover them with water. Bring the water to a boil, then let it simmer for 3 mins. Add the chicken, courgette and broccoli to the pan and simmer for around 7 mins until the chicken is fully cooked and the vegetables are soft.
- Drain the cooked ingredients and move them to a food processor along with the yogurt. Process the mixture until it is smooth, using baby's milk to achieve your desired consistency. Serve a portion now and spoon the remainder into small containers to freeze.
