Sweet and Spicy Air Fryer Butternut Squash Fries

Ingredients

  • 1 large butternut squash, peeled and cut into "fries"
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Chinese five-spice powder
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 2 teaspoons sea salt
  • 2 teaspoons black pepper

Method

  1. Set your air fryer to preheat to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  2. Transfer the prepared squash fries to a large mixing bowl. Pour in the olive oil, five-spice powder, minced garlic, sea salt, and black pepper. Toss everything together until evenly coated, then arrange the fries in the air fryer basket.
  3. Air fry the squash, giving the basket a shake every 5 minutes, until the fries are crisp. This will take 15 to 20 minutes total. Once cooked, transfer the fries to a serving dish and sprinkle with more sea salt if desired.
