Spicy Garlic Bread
This flavourful side dish is made by blending softened butter with crushed garlic, chopped coriander, red chillies and smoked paprika. The spiced butter is generously spread into sliced ciabatta loaves, which are then wrapped and baked. The result is a deliciously crispy and aromatic bread, ideal for serving alongside a main course. It yields enough for 15 servings and takes about 40 minutes to prepare and cook.
Ingredients
- 250g unsalted butter softened
- small bunch coriander finely chopped
- 2 red chillies deseeded and finely chopped
- 5 garlic cloves crushed
- 2 tsp smoked paprika
- 5 ciabatta loaves
Method
- Place the softened butter into a small bowl with the chopped coriander, chopped chillies, crushed garlic, smoked paprika and ½ tsp salt. Use a fork to mash everything together until fully combined.
- Set your oven to 200C/180C fan/gas 6. Take a bread knife and cut diagonal slices into each ciabatta loaf, stopping about three-quarters of the way down. Push the spiced butter mixture into all the cuts. Wrap every loaf tightly in two layers of foil. Bake for 15 minutes, then unwrap the foil and return to the oven for another 10 minutes until the bread is crispy.
