Spicy Crab Pasta
This American entree combines bow tie pasta with a savoury, spiced sauce. The base is made by melting butter and cooking canned crabmeat with drained diced tomatoes. The dish is seasoned with red pepper flakes, garlic salt, salt, and black pepper before being tossed with the cooked pasta. It serves eight people and can be prepared in just 35 minutes for a quick and satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- 1 (16 ounce) package dry farfalle (bow tie) pasta
- 0.5 cup butter
- 1 (6 ounce) can crabmeat, drained and flaked
- 1 (14.5 ounce) can peeled and diced tomatoes, drained
- 1.5 tablespoons red pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon garlic salt
- salt and pepper to taste
Method
- Fill a large pot with lightly salted water and bring it to a rolling boil. Cook the pasta in the boiling water, giving it an occasional stir, for 8 to 10 minutes until it is al dente. Drain the cooked pasta.
- In another pot, melt the butter. Add the flaked crabmeat and the drained tomatoes to the melted butter. Season the mixture with red pepper flakes, garlic salt, salt, and pepper. Cook this for 10 minutes, stirring frequently. Combine the sauce with the drained pasta and toss well before serving.
