This recipe creates a layered gift jar containing dried pinto and kidney beans, rotini pasta, and a homemade seasoning blend. To prepare the meal, the beans are soaked for 6 to 8 hours or overnight before being simmered with water, diced tomatoes, browned ground meat, and the seasoning mix for 90 minutes. The pasta is added for a final 30 minutes of cooking. The finished dish is served topped with shredded cheddar cheese.
