Spicy Chicken Wontons

⏱ 55 mins 🍽 30-35 wontons 🏷 Chinese

These baked Chinese wontons are filled with shredded chicken marinated in a blend of soy sauce and spicy steak seasoning. Using ready-made wrappers, they are shaped into classic parcels and baked until crisp. The recipe yields 30 to 35 pieces and takes about 55 minutes from start to finish, offering a simpler alternative to frying.

Spicy Chicken Wontons

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons simply organic spicy steak seasoning
  • 1 1/2 lbs chicken, cooked and shredded
  • 30 -35 wonton wrappers
  • 1/2 cup water (or 1 beaten egg white, to seal wraps)

Method

  1. Set your oven to heat to 400°F.
  2. Combine the soy sauce, water, and Spicy Steak Seasoning in a large bowl, whisking them together. Mix in the shredded chicken and allow it to sit for 5 to 10 minutes.
  3. Place about one tablespoon of the chicken mixture onto each wonton wrapper. Dampen the wrapper edges with water or egg white. Fold the wrapper into a triangle, pressing the edges to seal, then bring the two corners together and give them a slight twist to form the wonton shape.
  4. Arrange the shaped wontons on a prepared baking sheet and bake them for 15 minutes.
