Spicy Cheese Quick Bread

Ingredients

  • 1.75 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2.5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.75 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1.5 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 0.5 cup half-and-half cream
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 0.33333334326744 cup vegetable oil

Method

  1. Set your oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Prepare a 9x5 inch loaf pan by greasing it lightly and then set it aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, and shredded Cheddar cheese. Pour in the half-and-half cream, milk, and vegetable oil, whisking the mixture just until it is combined. Transfer this batter into your greased loaf pan.
  3. Place the pan in your preheated oven and bake for 35 to 40 minutes. The bread is done when a toothpick inserted into its centre comes out clean. Allow the loaf to cool in its pan for 10 minutes, then turn it out onto a wire rack to cool fully.
