Spicy Buffalo Cauliflower 'Wings'
These vegan buffalo cauliflower wings offer a fiery and flavourful alternative to traditional wings. Cauliflower florets are coated in a garlicky batter, baked until crisp, then tossed in a classic buffalo sauce mixture for a final bake. They are ideal for serving as a party snack or game day appetiser with the suggested accompaniments. The entire process takes just 28 minutes from start to finish.
Ingredients
- 1 cup water or 1 cup soymilk
- 1 cup flour (any kind will workà even gluten-free!)
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 head cauliflower, chopped into pieces
- 1 cup buffalo wing sauce or 1 cup hot sauce
- 1 tablespoon olive oil or 1 tablespoon melted vegan margarine
Method
- Heat your oven to 450°F.
- Mix the water or soymilk with the flour and garlic powder in a bowl, stirring to a smooth consistency.
- Toss the cauliflower pieces in the batter to coat them fully, then arrange them in a shallow baking dish. Place in the oven for 18 minutes.
- As the cauliflower bakes, whisk together the buffalo wing sauce and olive oil or melted vegan margarine in a separate small bowl.
- Remove the baked cauliflower from the oven and pour the prepared sauce mixture over the top, ensuring it is evenly covered. Return the dish to the oven for another 5 to 8 minutes.
- Present the finished cauliflower wings with vegan blue cheese dressing and celery sticks for dipping.
