Spicy Bloody Mary with V8
This recipe is for a robust and spicy Bloody Mary cocktail. It uses V8 vegetable juice as a base, combined with vodka and a selection of piquant spices including cayenne and chilli powder. The drink is served over plenty of ice and is traditionally garnished with a fresh celery stalk, which can be peeled for easier munching. Ingredients
- 11 1/2 ounces v 8 vegetable juice
- 2 pinches new mexico chile powder
- 2 pinches cayenne pepper
- 2 pinches celery salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 4 drops Tabasco sauce
- 1/8 teaspoon lime juice
- 1 1/2 ounces vodka, more if you please
- 1 stalk celery
Method
- Place 6-8 ice cubes into a large 16 oz glass.
- Pour the 11.5 oz can of V8 juice into the glass, then add all the listed spices and the vodka.
- Prepare the celery stalk by peeling off the tough strings using a potato peeler, or use an unpeeled celery heart stalk if preferred.
- Insert the celery stalk into the glass and stir thoroughly to combine all the ingredients, using the stalk to scrape the sides and incorporate any settled spices.
