Spicy Beef With Potatoes
This hearty dish combines tender stir-fry beef with diced potatoes in a richly spiced sauce. Flavoured with cumin, paprika and a touch of cayenne, it's a satisfying meal that cooks in one pan. The addition of Worcestershire sauce adds depth, and it's all ready to serve in under half an hour. Ideal for a speedy weeknight dinner, it pairs wonderfully with thick slices of bread.
Ingredients
- 4 teaspoons olive oil
- 1/2 lb stir-fry beef
- 1/4 small onion, thinly sliced
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
- cayenne, to taste
- 1 teaspoon parsley flakes
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2/3 cup potato, cooked & diced
Method
- Warm the olive oil and cook the sliced onion and beef together until the meat loses its pink colour.
- Reduce the heat to medium-low and mix in the cumin, paprika, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, cayenne, parsley flakes and Worcestershire sauce. Fry this mixture for 10 minutes, stirring often.
- Add the cooked, diced potatoes to the pan and cook for a further 7 minutes. Serve the finished dish with thick bread.
