Spicy Beef With Farfelle

Ingredients

  • 1 cup farfalle pasta, cooked
  • 250 g beef mince
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 5 cm piece ginger, peeled and shredded
  • 1 long red chili, thinly sliced, plus extra to serve
  • 1/4 cup asian chili jam or 1/4 cup sriracha hot chili sauce
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced (scallions)
  • 1 teaspoon white sesame seeds, for garnishing

Method

  1. Place a wok or large frying pan on the heat with the oil.
  2. Cook the ginger and sliced chilli for 2–3 minutes until they turn golden brown. Introduce the beef mince to the pan and cook it through.
  3. Stir in the chilli jam and cook for 1 minute. Pour in a small amount of water and continue cooking for 6–7 minutes until the sauce reduces.
  4. Portion the cooked farfalle pasta into bowls. Spoon the beef mixture over the top and garnish with the sliced green onions, extra chilli, and sesame seeds.
