Spicy Beef Vegetable Stew

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 (30 ounce) jar meatless spaghetti sauce
  • 3.5 cups water
  • 1 (16 ounce) package frozen mixed vegetables
  • 1 (10 ounce) can diced tomatoes with green chile peppers
  • 1 cup sliced celery
  • 1 teaspoon beef bouillon granules
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper

Method

  1. Place a large skillet on the heat and add the ground beef and chopped onion. Cook while stirring until the meat is browned and crumbly with no pink remaining, which should take about 10 minutes. Drain off any extra fat.
  2. Move the cooked beef and onion into a slow cooker. Add the spaghetti sauce, 3.5 cups water, the frozen mixed vegetables, the can of diced tomatoes with green chile peppers, the sliced celery, beef bouillon granules, and ground black pepper. Put the lid on and cook on the Low setting until the vegetables are soft, for about 8 hours.
