Spicy Baked Pierogies
This recipe transforms frozen pierogies into a flavourful, spicy dish by coating them in a blend of oil, hot sauce, and seasoned salt before baking. The process is straightforward and takes just 25 minutes from start to finish, resulting in a crispy, tangy snack or side. It's an ideal choice for a quick and satisfying meal, best enjoyed hot with a cool dollop of sour cream for dipping.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup olive oil or 1/4 cup canola oil
- 4 tablespoons Frank's red hot sauce
- 1 tablespoon Lawry's Seasoned Salt
- 1 (16 ounce) box frozen pierogies (I prefer Mrs. T's potato and 4 Cheese Blend)
Method
- Set your oven to heat to 400*.
- Lightly grease a 9 x 13 cookie sheet.
- Combine the oil, hot sauce, and seasoned salt thoroughly, then add the frozen pierogies and toss until they are fully coated.
- Arrange all the coated pierogies in a single layer on the prepared sheet, ensuring they all face the same direction to help track when flipped.
- Bake for 20 minutes, turning them over once after the first 10 minutes of cooking.
- Present the baked pierogies straight away, accompanied by sour cream for dipping.
