Spicy Avocado Snack
This quick snack features ripe avocado, sliced into cubes while still in its skin. It is then seasoned with fresh lemon juice, a pinch of salt, and a generous drizzle of your favourite hot sauce. The result is a fresh, zesty, and spicy bite that is perfect for a light appetiser or snack. It is suitable for vegan and paleo diets and can be assembled in about 10 minutes.
Ingredients
- 1 cup ripe avocado, halved and pitted
- 0.5 lemon, juiced
- 2 tablespoons hot sauce (such as Valentina®), or to taste
- 2 pinches kosher salt
Method
- Take each avocado half and slice the flesh 3 or 4 times in one direction. Rotate the avocado and make another 3 or 4 slices perpendicular to the first, creating 8 to 12 small cubes that remain attached to the skin.
- Pour lemon juice over each prepared avocado half and sprinkle with kosher salt. Finish by drizzling hot sauce over the top. Enjoy directly from the peel using a fork or spoon.
