Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons minced fresh peeled ginger
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 lbs chicken wings, tips removed

Method

  1. Combine the soy sauce, red wine vinegar, honey, olive oil, minced garlic, minced ginger, crushed red pepper flakes and black pepper in a medium bowl, whisking them together.
  2. Place the chicken wings in the marinade and turn them until they are fully coated.
  3. Cover the bowl and let the wings marinate in the refrigerator for 2 hours or leave them overnight.
  4. Preheat your oven to 450°F.
  5. Arrange the marinated wings on a rack set inside a broiler pan.
  6. Roast the wings in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
  7. If you prefer extra crisp skin, switch the oven setting to broil.
  8. Broil the wings for 1-2 minutes until the skin becomes crisp.
