Spicy Asian Wings
These chicken wings are marinated in a punchy blend of soy sauce, honey, ginger, garlic and red pepper flakes for a sweet and spicy flavour. After marinating, they are roasted in the oven until beautifully cooked, with an optional quick broil to achieve extra crispy skin. Ingredients
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tablespoons minced fresh peeled ginger
- 1 1/2 teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 lbs chicken wings, tips removed
Method
- Combine the soy sauce, red wine vinegar, honey, olive oil, minced garlic, minced ginger, crushed red pepper flakes and black pepper in a medium bowl, whisking them together.
- Place the chicken wings in the marinade and turn them until they are fully coated.
- Cover the bowl and let the wings marinate in the refrigerator for 2 hours or leave them overnight.
- Preheat your oven to 450°F.
- Arrange the marinated wings on a rack set inside a broiler pan.
- Roast the wings in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
- If you prefer extra crisp skin, switch the oven setting to broil.
- Broil the wings for 1-2 minutes until the skin becomes crisp.
