Spicy Asian Tuna Salad
This is a vibrant twist on classic tuna salad, infused with Asian flavours like chilli paste, sesame oil and ginger. It makes a fantastic spread for crackers as a party appetiser, or can be used to top a salad or fill a sandwich. The recipe yields enough for 8 servings and comes together in only 2 minutes. Feel free to adjust the spice level to suit your taste.
Ingredients
- 2 (6 ounce) cans albacore tuna
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon chili paste (sriracha is the same thing)
- 2 teaspoons chili oil
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger powder (if using fresh ginger use 1/4 tsp)
- 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
- 4 green onions, chopped
Method
- Drain the tuna thoroughly and combine it with all the other listed ingredients in a bowl.
- Taste the mixture and adjust the amount of chilli paste if you prefer a spicier flavour, then chill it before serving.
- Present it with crackers for an appetiser, use it in a sandwich, or enjoy it as part of a salad.
