This dish features salmon fillets coated in a flavourful rub combining steak seasoning, brown sugar, cumin, coriander, and cayenne pepper. Cooked in the air fryer, it offers a quick and convenient dinner option. The method involves preheating the appliance, seasoning the fish, and air frying until perfectly flaky. It's a simple way to prepare a protein-rich meal with a sweet and spicy kick.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons grill seasoning (such as Montreal Steak Seasoning)
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 0.75 teaspoon ground cumin
- 0.5 teaspoon ground coriander
- 0.25 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 2 pounds salmon fillets, skin on
Method
- Set your air fryer to the fish setting of 330 degrees F (165 degrees C) and let it preheat for 2 minutes.
- Mix the steak seasoning, brown sugar, cumin, coriander, and cayenne pepper together in a small bowl. Apply roughly 2 teaspoons of this mix to every salmon fillet. Arrange the seasoned fillets in a single layer inside the air fryer basket.
- Air fry the salmon for about 18 minutes, until it flakes apart easily with a fork. You may need to cook in batches. Move the cooked fish to a plate and keep it warm in an oven set to its lowest temperature. Continue with any remaining fillets, then serve straight away.
