Ingredients

  • 5 lbs venison roast
  • 1 tablespoon bacon fat
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon ginger
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 2 cups tomato juice
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

Method

  1. Brown the venison roast on every side using the bacon fat in a roasting pan.
  2. Combine all the other listed ingredients in a bowl and mix them thoroughly.
  3. Pour the mixed sauce over the browned roast in the pan.
  4. Place the roast in an oven preheated to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and cook for 3 hours.
