Shamrock Shake
This homemade version of the classic Shamrock Shake is a perfect festive drink or dessert. It requires just a few minutes to blend vanilla ice cream with milk, mint extract and green food colouring into a smooth, creamy mixture. The shakes are then served in glasses decorated with chocolate syrup and finished with whipped cream and a sprinkle of green sugar for a celebratory touch. It's an iconic American treat ideal for St. Patrick's Day celebrations.
Ingredients
- 2 cups vanilla ice cream
- 1.25 cups milk
- 0.25 teaspoon mint extract, or more to taste
- 9 drops green food coloring
- 2 tablespoons chocolate syrup, or to taste
- 2 tablespoons whipped cream, or to taste
- 0.5 teaspoon green decorator sugar, or to taste
Method
- Collect all the required components.
- Combine the 2 cups of vanilla ice cream, 1.25 cups of milk, 0.25 teaspoon of mint extract, and 9 drops of green food colouring in a blender and process until completely smooth.
- Swirl 2 tablespoons of chocolate syrup inside two tall glasses, then divide the blended shake between them. Finish each with 2 tablespoons of whipped cream and a sprinkle of 0.5 teaspoon of green decorator sugar.
- Serve and enjoy immediately.
