Sesame Flatbreads
These simple flatbreads are a fantastic yeast-free alternative to pitta bread. Made with self-raising flour, sesame seeds, and natural yogurt, they cook in minutes under the grill. The result is a soft, puffed bread with a golden finish, ideal for serving with dips like hummus. They are a great choice for a light lunch, snack, or canapé.
Ingredients
- 200g self-raising flour
- 2 tbsp sesame seeds
- a pinch of salt
- a grind of black pepper
- 150g pot natural yogurt
- 1 tbsp milk or water
- a little olive oil
Method
- Set your grill to high and lightly flour a non-stick baking sheet. In a large bowl, combine the self-raising flour, sesame seeds, a pinch of salt and a grind of black pepper. Add the natural yogurt and milk or water, mixing thoroughly until a soft dough forms.
- Split the dough into 4 equal portions. Press each piece into an oval shape about 5mm thick. Arrange them on the prepared sheet and grill for 3 mins on each side until they are puffed and golden. You can brush them with a little olive oil just before serving.
