Ingredients
- cooking spray
- 8 ounces lean ground beef
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 teaspoon taco seasoning
- 0.25 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- 5 ounces thin corn tortilla chips
- 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
- 0.5 (15.25 ounce) can black beans, rinsed and drained
- 0.33 cup salsa, or to taste
- 3 tablespoons sliced green onions
- 0.33 cup sour cream, or more to taste
Method
- Set your air fryer to preheat at 360 degrees F (182 degrees C) for about 5 minutes. Line the basket with foil or a parchment liner and coat it with cooking spray.
- Place a small skillet on the heat and brown the ground beef until crumbly, which should take about 3 minutes. drain any fat. Mix in the water, taco seasoning, cayenne, salt, and pepper, then take the skillet off the heat.
- Arrange the tortilla chips in the prepared basket, spreading them out and allowing a slight overlap to prevent cheese from dripping. Sprinkle the shredded Cheddar cheese evenly over the chips. You can create a couple of layers with cheese in between or cook a single layer in batches.
- Scatter the cooked ground beef and the rinsed black beans evenly over the cheese. Top with the sliced green onions and add dollops of salsa.
- Place the basket into the air fryer and cook until the cheese has melted and begins to brown slightly at the edges, 4 to 6 minutes. They cook fast and evenly, so keep a close watch to avoid burning.
- Transfer the nachos to a plate for serving. Add a garnish of sour cream and enjoy straight away. Offer any additional toppings in separate bowls so everyone can personalise their portion.
