Praline Butter-Pecan Crunch Popcorn

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter (no substitutions)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 8 cups popped popcorn
  • 1 (100 g) package pecan pieces

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 325 degrees.
  2. Place the butter, honey and brown sugar in a medium saucepan. Cook while stirring until the mixture reaches a full boil.
  3. Add the baking soda, which will cause the mixture to foam.
  4. Put the popped popcorn and pecan pieces into a large bowl.
  5. Pour the hot syrup over the popcorn and nuts, mixing thoroughly to ensure an even coating.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a large buttered cookie sheet, spreading it out evenly.
  7. Bake for about 15 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes, until it turns a deep golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool completely before storing in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
